'I missed him during Laver Cup...'- WATCH: Carlos Alcaraz on playing Davis Cup finals with Rafael Nadal

World number 3 Carlos Alcaraz opens up on playing the upcoming Davis Cup finals with Rafael Nadal this season. The upcoming Spanish superstar says that he does not want to think that it is going to be the last dance for the King of Clay in the upcoming tournament. 

It is not surprising see that Alcaraz is having a lot of love and respect from Rafael Nadal since the legend is also one of his idols in the game. The two also played doubles together in the Paris Olympics where they made it to the quarter finals. However, this has been a season where the King of Clay hasn't been active at all, but it turns out we might see him in the upcoming Davis Cup finals in Malaga and will be sharing a dugout with Carlos once again.

Carlos wishes for more time with El Nino

Carlos is currently playing in Beijing and has just won his first game of the ongoing China Open. He looks to be in great form. The 4-time Grand Slam winner has even spoken about playing the Davis Cup finals with Nadal saying "Obviously it’s always great to have Rafa around. I’m not going to lie, I missed him during the Laver Cup.Obviously as much time as I can spend with him is a privilege. I don’t want to think it is a potential last dance for him in Malaga.”

These words show the real love and respect a player has for his idol. It is evident that Carlos wants to spend as much time as he can with Nadal and wishes that he can play and learn more from him. This is a real mentor and mentee relationship and we hope to keep seeing them on the court as well.
