The story of the Indian tennis fraternity has been one of the saddest tales to tell anyone especially after the Indian team faced a disappointing loss against Sweden which also saw their hopes in the Davis Cup go down the drain completely. The 4-0 loss has brought up a lot of questions about the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and its workings. Despite producing some great players in the mix it was tough to see the poor performance from the team against an inexperienced Sweden side.

There were also issues faced by some of the top players in Indian tennis which also include the likes of Sumit Nagal who is also the Indian number 1 player. There have already been some controversial battles fought between Nagal and the organization where Nagal commented on an Indian team photo and the AITA secretary Anil Dhurpar also gave a reason that the absence of Nagal and Bhambri played a big role in their horrible defeat against Sweden.

Nagal clarifies the reason for his absence
The reason from the Secretary was something that further created the controversy between Nagal and the AITA who were questioning him for missing out on the Davis Cup match. However, Nagal answered back to the organization through a post on Instagram saying, "Representing my country is always a privilege and an honor that I hold in the highest regard. One of the highlights of my career was being able to represent India at the Olympics."
This was not all as Nagal further added about his injury concerns and the discussions with the medical team on the chances of him playing the game against Sweden, "However, after consulting with my medical team, it became clear that competing while carrying an injury could not only jeopardise my health but also adversely impact the team's chances." With this statement we have to agree with the player who wanted to be 100% fit and gave the perfect reply to the AITA who were indirectly blaming him for the loss.
