The impact of the doping accusations fell heavily on tennis star Iga Swiatek. Just a few days after her crushing defeat against WTA number three Coco Gauff at the 2025 United Cup final thriller, the 23-year-old tennis player has recently talked about how the tennis fraternity treated her after the news of her one-month doping ban, which emerged in November 2024.

Notably, the ITIA provisionally suspended the Polish star for a month after she tested positive for the banned substance Trimetazidine for 10 days after she clinched the bronze medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The star player opposed the result, saying it was because of sleep aid medication purchased by her psychologist after the ITIA cleared her, and she served the remaining eight days after her successful appeal.

Following the same, some of the tennis stars genuinely came out to her support, while some have lashed out at her for the doping saga. In the same vein, Coco Gauff came forward and extended her support to the Pole ahead of the 2025 Australian Open, set to commence on 12 Jan. The two-star players recently met in the 2025 United Cup Finals, where Team USA won the elite title after defeating Poland in the summit game.

"I wouldn't say she's dropped her confidence. For me, I don't know like her personally well, but just from the interactions that we've had, I definitely don't think anything she did was intentional.  I think she's fine. I don't know her well enough to tell you if she feels some type of way about it. Yeah, I can just say from what I see I think she's doing fine. She's still No. 2 in the world and playing amazing tennis. She's always going to play amazing tennis, so... Yeah, I think she'll be fine," Coco Gauff said.
