Tennis star Daniil Medvedev is setting his sights on disrupting the emerging Grand Slam orders, which have been dominated by stars like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The star player, who faced back-to-back setbacks at the three major championships back in 2024 due to this duo, now aims to reclaim his position as a top contender.

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz toppled the former world number one in the Australian Open, US Open, and Wimbledon, which showcases that Medvedev's Grand Slam journey has been challenging after the youngsters have been dominating the ATP rankings. However, his recent notable win was over Serbian legend Novak Djokovic back in the 2021 US Open, but he has since struggled to replicate that win.

Despite being sidelined by Jannik Sinner in the final thriller of ATP, Medvedev remains optimistic. Notably, the 28-year-old tennis star remains optimistic ahead of the Australian Open 2025, a tournament and the first Grand Slam of the Year, set to take place on January 15 at Melbourne Park.

Similarly, Russian acknowledged that he has been failing against Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The 28-year-old tennis star revealed that there were many occasions he performed great and managed to place in the semis and finals, but the duo's dominance on the courts has been commendable, making him lose on every occasion back in 2024. The star player also accepted that both are clear favorites heading to the first Grand Slam of the year, but he aims to mark his turnaround this year.

“I didn't manage last year, except the Australian Open, I was less of a disrupter because Carlos and Jannik were beating me a lot of times. A lot of tournaments I was getting to the good stages but not able to beat them. I would like to become again, I don't even know this word, but let's say disrupter, because it means that I will be able to get to these later stages and win them. As I say, last year I could see that it's not enough, what I'm doing against them, so I'll try to improve," Daniil Medvedev said, as being quoted by Tennis Letter.
