The director of the US Anti-Doping Agency, Travis Tygart, has recently opened up about Jannik Sinner's doping scandal and further affirmed that he does not believe that the world number one is guilty. The 23-year-old star player fully avoided suspension after the ITIA determined that there was no fault at all for the banned substance in his body.
The American was recently seen giving his recent interview to Daily Maverick, where he defended the doping case of Jannik Sinner, stating that he aligned with full regulations. Notably, it's worth mentioning that one of the controversies surrounding Sinner's case and Iga Swiatek's was the alleged treatment by ITIA.
In the same vein, Tygart came forward and refuted the claims and further used the comparisons of the 23 Chinese swimmers who had tested positive for TMZ before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Tygart has further criticized WADA for appealing the ruling months after Sinner's innocence had been determined.

“If he (Sinner) is a doper, which I don’t think he is based on the facts that have been put out there, then a “no fault” finding was a perfectly appropriate outcome based on the rules and the facts,” Tygart told Daily Maverick.
“The player (Świątek) was provisionally suspended from 12 September until 4 October, missing three tournaments, which counts towards the sanction, leaving eight days remaining,” the integrity agency said.

Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner's defense argues that the substance went into his body unintentionally by his physiotherapist, who treated him without gloves after using a clostebol-based cream to heal the wounds on his hands. Following the same, a microscopic amount entered his body through minor wounds on his legs.
The star player is currently making bold headlines with his stunning performance in the Australian Open 2025 at Melbourne Park, having made it to the third round successfully. Despite this, the Italian has been subject to criticism and faces a strong backlash for the doping saga.
