The US Open is now down to the last 4 players who are in contention to win the major title in New York. There have been some great matches which we witnessed this season and it has been a joy to watch the Grand Slam Event. With only one player out of the top 10 ranked player alive in the tournament it is safe to say that this tournament could go in any direction right now.

One of the biggest matches we all have been looking forward to was between Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev, where the World number one finally got his revenge after Wimbledon where he beat the Russian in a 4-set match and make it through to another semi final match in a Grand Slam event. This match did have its moments, but it was slightly shorter than the previous matches where the two rivals have been involved in. However this still keeps Sinner in contention to win his second Grand Slam title of his career.

Medvedev gives a sour remark

The press conference for a player who has just lost his match is something very tough to deal with. This was evident from Daniil Medvedev who is was disappointed after his loss against Sinner in the match which ruined his chances of winning another Grand Slam in New York. However there were some sour remarks made by the Russian on not only his, but his opponents performance as well where Medvedev gave a sour statement saying " The first set was horrible, even more than the third, in the second set things seemed to be going better then he solved his problems and things went well for him. For me it wasn't my best day but he didn't play well either, he lacked something but he won."

There is normally no problem for a player to criticise his opponent in the game, but to not give him credit after the win was something that we don't expect from a professional player like Medvedev especially after being in the losing side. What this will certainly do in get the rivalry between the two players even more leverage going forward and Medvedev will be facing a lot of negative media after this controversial remark.
