World No.1 Jannik Sinner faced significant attention upon entering the US Open following the resolution of doping allegations related to a banned steroid. Notwithstanding, he displayed resilience by claiming victory at the Cincinnati Masters. With notable figures such as Nick Kyrgios and Frances Tiafoe expressing their thoughts on the matter, the tournament served as a test of Sinner's composure and determination on the court.

During the round of 16 clash at Flushing Meadows, Sinner easily defeated American T. Paul in three straight sets, with scores of 7-6, 7-6, and 6-1. In the quarterfinals, Sinner overcame the challenge posed by 5th seed Daniel Medvedev in four sets, with scores of 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, and 6-4.

The number one-seeded Italian is set to compete against the British player Jack Draper in the semi-finals at Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 7th.

Sinner reveals his way of dealing with Controversies

In the post-match press conference following his victory over Medvedev, Sinner was asked, despite everything that's been happening, how is he able to keep his focus and not let the distractions affect him?

Sinner answered that he is fortunate to have a great team and a close-knit group of people around him who understand and support him. He expressed his gratitude to his well-wishers who supported him both on and off the court. He accepted that all the controversies were initially tough to handle, but they improved gradually, and he is determined to put his best foot forward in the semi-finals.

“How are you able to, just with everything going on, entering this tournament with the positive tests and all that other stuff, how are you able to kind of stay focused and not let the other stuff distract you?” asked the reporter

To this, Sinner replied:- “I have my team and my people who are close to me. You know, they know me, they know I always stick with the people who know me and believe me. It's a very important part. And, I'm very happy to have them, you know, coach-wise and also off the court.

"Yeah, obviously, in the beginning, it was a bit, was a tough situation, but, you know, day by day, it went better. So yeah, I'm happy about that. Let's see now in the semis what I can do.”

With no Carlos Alcarez or Novak Djokovic in the final 4, Sinner is now considered the favourite to win it all at the Flushing Meadows.
