'But I like to say what I think...'- Garbine Muguruza on picking between fellow compatriots Nadal and Alcaraz

Spain has given us some of the most promising and talented individuals in the sport of tennis, the two big names from the country are without a doubt Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. Both these players have been one of the popular players from the nation and there is no doubt that the Spanish nation is proud of them. These two players have already broken some big records in their career.

There is no doubt that Rafael Nadal is one of the most legendary figures in the World of tennis and has won everything from his 22 Grand Slams to his two Olympic Gold Medals. However, the achievements of Alcaraz cannot be overlooked since at the age of 21 he has already won 4 Grand Slams and has already been a World number one as well. It is safe to say that they are now the biggest names in the sporting world even today.

Muguruza makes her choice

Though Carlos Alcaraz is still early into his career there are already comparisons made between him and Nadal by many experts. There are a lot of people who also believe that the young Spaniard is going to take over the game in a few years as well. Out of all the experts former World number one and 2-time Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza also made her pick between her fellow compatriots where she surprisingly picked Alcaraz over the legendary figure himself saying " There are moments when we think a lot about what we say, especially so that it doesn't backfire, But I like to say what I think. Rafa is more reserved in that respect. I like Carlos, I see him more confident, younger, speaking more and saying what he thinks. And I believe people also appreciate that and not measuring your words so much.”

Though there will be a lot of players debating over her choice thinking that Alcaraz is not ready yet to picked over Nadal and still has a long way to go, but we also have toi see on what terms the Garbine Muguruza has made her pick and she was more interested in the personality of Alcaraz more than Nadal. This is a fair choice by the veteran which should not be taken out of context.
