Aryna Sabalenka eyeing year's first Grand Slam title

Notably, Sabalenka headed to this tournament after winning the titles in 2023 and 2024 at Melbourne Park. If she wins her third consecutive title, she will be the first woman to do so in the Australian Open since 1997.

The 26-year-old tennis star started her journey by winning the Brisbane International 2025 title earlier this month and now sets her sights on winning the year's first Grand Slam. Her performance showcases that she is one of the top contenders for the title here.

Meanwhile, Sabalenka hugged the camera after the game, waved to the fans, took a photo with her Polaroid camera, and gave a thumbs-up to mark the occasion. She expressed happiness after winning the fourth round of the year's first Grand Slam.

"I came up with the idea with my boyfriend, that throughout the year, we're going to collect Polaroid pictures. And we're going to frame it, and I hope we'll have a lot of cool moments this year to collect. I'm super happy to get through this difficult match in straight sets. I want to help people go through tough moments.  I hope they look at me, see my example, and they know how tough I had to battle some of the challenges," said Sabalenka after winning the game.
