Andy Roddick blasted at those who doubt and question her Tennis legacy. The former US Tennis star pointed out Evert's record despite not-so-great quality of racquets. Roddick noted the great record Evert had on clay courts at the French Open and compared it to Rafael Nadal's Roland Garros record and Pete Sampras at Wimbledon.

Roddick claimed that Evert missed about a ball a decade and added she played in a time when the head of the racquet was of the size of the hat on his head. Roddick added that Evert possessed a great ball control and could land it on the dime day in and day out.

"Chrissy missed one ball a decade when the head of your racket was as big as the hat on my head. You can miss me with the f***ing looking backwards. The ball control, she could literally land it on a dime and not miss for days. Get out of here," said Roddick in his podcast.

The former Tennis felt Evert's stats on clay courts back in time had to be studied. While he did not want to consider it in the same league as that of Rafael Nadal in the French Open, Roddick added that Evert's stats deserve a mention when someone talks about some of the best players on clay courts.

"Chrissy’s stats, if you read them back on clay, for a moment in time. They need to be discussed – and I am not saying they are the same as Rafa’s because they are not – but they need to be mentioned whenever anyone is talking about Rafa’s clay dominance," Roddick added.

While he felt Evert does get her flowers, Roddick felt she needs to be in conversation while naming the players with domination on a particular surface. He claimed her record of winning 125 matches on a surface was right up there as Pete Sampras' record on grass and felt was even better than it.

"I think we all give Chrissy all the flowers that she deserves but in the context of the conversation around dominance on one service, she needs to be right there in the first three names every single time. 125 straight matches on a surface is over years. That is absurd. It needs to be right up there. As dominant as Pete was on grass, Chrissy was more dominant on clay," Roddick added.

Evert won 18 Grand Slam titles in her career, the joint fifth-most for a WTA star, alongside Martina Navratilova, her biggest rival. She won two Grand Slams at the Australian Open, 3 at Wimbledon, 7 at the Roland Garros, and 6 at the US Open. Evert had a win percentage of 94.55 on clay courts and was ranked the best player in the world for 260 weeks.
