Eugenie Bouchard addressed the challenges of being a Tennis player and having to stay away from loved ones for a major part of their career. The Canadian star felt the lifestyle of the Tennis players is bound to have a lot of traveling away from home, which does not allow the individuals to spend a lot of time with their loved ones.
While the 31-year-old claimed to have had no big problem personally in her life, she understood the challenges of being in a long-distance relationship. She hence advised her fellow colleagues to avoid dating Tennis players on the tour. While many agreed with her statement, some felt individuals in love could still manage time.

"With our lifestyle, it has to be long distance, and long distance is just so hard. I’ve had some relationships like that and they’ve been great, but it’s been hard to build a foundation and have stability—unless you want to date someone on the tour, which I highly recommend you don’t do," said Bouchard in an interview with Tennis.com.
Eugenie Bouchard advises Leylah Fernandez before her fan date
Bouchard had once gone on a date with a fan in 2017. Leylah Fernandez, who is taking a similar route, got advice from the Canadian. The star player suggested that Leylah vet the person before committing to the promise. She wished Fernandez a good time and hoped she would thank her for the idea.

"I personally love interacting with fans, and I think they appreciate that I do that. I believe it creates a fun atmosphere and community. I hope [Leylah Fernandez] vets the person beforehand; that’s what I did before my Twitter date. I did a background check on my guy, so as long as she does that, we’re all good. I hope she has a great time, and she’d better thank me for that idea," added Bouchard in the interview.
