Harmanpreet Singh converted two penalty corners into goals in the semifinal match against South Korea in the Asian Champions Trophy 2024. In the process, the Indian captain became the second-highest goal scorer in the ongoing tournament. It helped India to win the match 4-1 to progress to the final. India will be taking on China in the final who beat Pakistan in the semifinal.

In the 19th minute of the match, India got a penalty corner. The first of them was invalid as the defenders committed a mistake. Hence, there was a retake and Abhishek gave a good injection. Harman scored the goal despite not having a good strike at the post. It gave India a lead of 2-0 in the second quarter.

Korea went for the equalizer but could only manage to score a solitary goal. Yang Ji-Hun scored the goal for Korea thanks to a penalty corner conversion. India had gone way too far in the game and Harmanpreet got yet another shot at the goal.

Uttam Singh and Jarmanpreet Singh score for India against Korea

In the 45th minute of the match, India got yet another penalty corner. Harmanpreet Singh did not waste it and scored a near-perfect drag flick to claim the second goal of the match. It was the seventh goal of the tournament for Singh. He is just a goal away from becoming the joint-highest scorer.

Apart from Harmanpreet, India had two more scorers. Interestingly, both of them produced goals through field attempts. India drew the first blood in the form of a goal from Uttam Singh. It was a good goal with four players involved. Nilakanta Sharma, Mandeep Singh, Raj Kumar Pal, and Araijeet Singh were in the process of passing the ball to Uttam.

The combined efforts of the rising stars ensured India got an early lead of 1-0 in the match. After Harman ensured a 2-0 lead, Jarmanpreet Singh came up with an aggressive strike from the circle. It helped India to claim a lead of 3-0 over Korea. India's fourth goal and Harman's second goal ensured Korea was knocked out of the tournament.
