Los Angeles, California's Crypto.com Arena hosted AEW Revolution 2025. On Sunday night, Jon Moxley defeated Cope and Christian Cage to maintain the AEW World Championship at Revolution. Moxley and Cope began the main event as a one-on-one, but Cage changed the outcome by interfering and signing his AEW World Championship match contract, turning it into a triple-threat bout.

However, by putting the cage in his Bulldog Choke hold, Moxley managed to gain victory. The top candidate for the AEW World Championship, Swerve Strickland, attacked Moxley following the bout. In December, Cope returned to AEW programming at the Worlds End pay-per-view after missing seven months of action due to a fractured tibia.

With that name change, the Rated R Superstar had a chance to compete against the previous Dean Ambrose at the top of the AEW roster. As Cope made his way to the ring, the crowd sang his theme song with great enthusiasm. The second-place finisher, Jon Moxley, took his time, holding on to that briefcase containing the AEW World Title. Anything was possible as the business wrapped up their huge night in LA, with Christian Cage's championship fight guaranteed and the AEW World championship up for grabs.

Christian Cage's contract made the fight Triple Threat match

The referee was knocked down in the last moments of the match. Wheeler Yuta arrived at the ring and used a Busaiku Knee to down Cope. After rushing in, Jay White removed Yuta. Unintentionally he struck Cope with Moxley's suitcase. Cope fought back and struck many Spears. However, a cloaked figure dragged the referee from the ring. Cope was hit with his contract by the newcomer, Christian Cage, who then cashed in to make the fight a Triple Threat.

After a Spear and a Killswitch, Moxley almost pinned Cope, but he was forced to pass out by a bulldog choke to seal the win. After Mox put Christian in a bulldog headlock, the referee rang the bell. After Christian and Cope were laid out in the ring, Jon Moxley left LA as the world champion. Will Ospreay almost killed Kyle Fletcher in a cage match, which was the night's big event. Jon Moxley was walking to the back after the game when Prince Nana stepped in front of him. Swerve Strickland used a Swerve Stomp to jump off the guardrail in the crowd and lay Moxley out, so this was only a distraction.
