WATCH: Chris Jericho defeats Mark Briscoe in ladder fight to win the ROH World Title

Hard-hitting matches are a hallmark of AEW, and wrestlers are occasionally free to go as far as they choose. During the October 22 AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho and Mark Briscoe engaged in another brawl, and they left the ring in ruins. At WrestleDream 2024, Chris Jericho and Mark Briscoe engaged in combat, but The Learning Tree lost the championship. He ultimately received another bout, but this one wasn't like the others.

The ROH World Title was once again at stake in a Ladder War on the October 23 edition of AEW Dynamite. All of this was due to Jericho's inability to stop talking about Jay Briscoe, and Mark's desire to silence him. This bout got off to a great start, as Chris Jericho quickly plowed through a table near the ringside. They proceeded and then hinted at a potential location where they would scale the ladder in the middle of the ring and seize the wire-hung ROH World Title belt.

Despite being thoroughly criticized throughout this match, Mark Briscoe remained unfazed. Later, using a Death Valley Driver, he pushed Jericho through a ladder that was supported on the turnbuckle. For added inspiration, Mark donned a Jay Briscoe t-shirt during the game.

Briscoe, carrying a ladder, managed to dive from the top rope onto Jericho. He walked outside to grab another table rather than going up. After that, they got into a brawl on the top of the ladder, and while Mark was pushed off, he tipped over to continue the battle.

Chris Jericho is currently the ROH World Champion

As the game went on, Jericho ended up on a table. Bryan Keith then ran down to divert Mark Briscoe's attention as he ascended a ladder. Rocky Romero then chased Keith away by running down with a kendo staff. Mark Briscoe then executed a flawless very high dive from the ladder into a table in Jericho. 

After Mark Briscoe executed a flawless Jay Driller, he ascended the ladder to win back the ROH World Title. However, Big Bill sprang into the ring and choked Mark, sending him through two tables on the floor and over the top rope. Big Bill then lifted Jericho onto his shoulders to ascend and win the ROH World Title. Though it wasn't without controversy, Chris Jericho is currently the ROH World Champion. Right now, we'll have to wait and see how things are scheduled.
