Big Bill and Ricky Starks might never be a tag team in the near future. The duo happened to be one of the best tag teams in the history of AEW. Initially being a part of The Firm, a Stokely Hathaway stable, Bill teamed up with Ricky in August. They formed a great tag team and went on to dominate the tag team division. It helped Starks with his appearance on TV.

In October, they went on to beat FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to become the AEW Tag team Champions. The duo remained the champions till the 7th of February when they lost the titles to the pair of Sting and Darby Allin in a tornado tag team match. Weeks after it, Starks has been out of action due to an injury. Since then, Bill has found a new partner.

Chris Jericho has been the new tag partner of Bill since the exit of Starks. The duo has been doing well considering the difference in age and experience. Jericho has been given the role of guiding Bill to become a good solo performer. In all probabilities, it looks like the duo will continue to be a tag team for the next few months.

Tag teams in the AEW roster

As the duo is already established, it seems like Starks might never be a tag partner of Bill. According to the reports, when Starks returns, his path is likely to be totally different compared to Bill. It is being claimed that the duo served the purpose of being a tag team and have no purpose to be tag partners again.

Moreover, AEW already has a plethora of talents in the tag division. The storyline for the teams has been good. there are Tag Team Titles in ROH and AEW. Additionally, there are Trios Title for the six-man tag teams. With a lot going on in the tag division, having the duo of Bill and Starks reunite probably does not make sense. The report seems to have touched on the point.
