Mercedes Mone defends TBS Championship against CMLL's Zeuxis on AEW Dynamite

Mercedes Mone successfully defended her TBS Championship against Zeuxis on AEW Dynamite. The CMLL star was not a match for the AEW star as Mone claimed a win on the biggest show of the company. Last week on Dynamite, Mone was surprised by the attack of Zeuxis. It led to their match this week. The fans were invested in the match between the two.

The crowd rooted for Mercedes Mone who started tentatively against Zeuxis. With the progression of the match, Mone slowly started to gain her control over the match. She delivered a drop kick and an arm drag to out Zeuxis under pressure. The CMLL star was no pushover who countered Mone with her impressive moves like a basement dropckick and a roundhouse dropckick.

She then delivered a Liger Bomb before Mone kicked out at two. The former WWE Superstar countered a powerbomb into a hurricana. But Zeuxis kicked out at two. She further delivered a bull dog, a pair of knees to the corner, a head to the rope, and a meteora. Zeuxis kicked out at two. The latter delivered a double under hook into a lung blower, but Mercedes kicked out at two.

Mariah May thankful for Toni Storm

Towards the end, the TBS Champion hit the Mone Maker. She claimed a win via pinfall to still hold the title. After the match, there was a backstage promo that featured Mariah May and Timeless Toni Storm. Renee Paquette interviewed them after having a video package where Mina Shirakawa spoke about her match with Storm. Renee asked Toni about her match with Mina in Forbidden Door.

Storm said that she would be the obvious winner in the match. Mariah took an opportunity and thanked Storm for giving her a chance to compete at the Owen Hart Tournament. May added that she would make sure that the contract signing between Toni and Mina would take place in a smooth way in the upcoming episode.
