Jon Moxley gave a Shield reference during his match against Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream 2024. The star wrestler ended Bryan's career similar to the way Roman Reigns ended his WWE career in 2021. During the match, Jon delivered Seth Rollins' finisher Curb Stomp to Bryan thereby giving a couple of tributes to The Shield. The segments have gone viral on social media.

Jon and Bryan Danielson delivered a good match in the main event of the night. Both were ready to fight till they could breathe. Moxley went to the extent of nearly killing Danielson to clinch the title away from him. The former WWE Superstar delivered a Curb Stomp, Seth Rollins' finisher, during the match.

The match ended with Bryan submitting. The maneuver used by Jon was similar to the one Roman Reigns used during his match with Bryan in 2021 to end his WWE career. In the process, Moxley gave a tribute to The Shield twice during the same match.

Everything one needs to know about 'The Shield'

The fans observed the minute details and claimed it to be a great initiative from the creative team. The Shield was the top faction of WWE in the PG Era from 2012 to 2014. It involved some emerging stars back then like Jon Moxley aka Dean Ambrose, Roman, and Seth.

They were initially heels but went on to get so over among the fans to have a genuine face turn. Seth ruined everything for them by turning against both Roman and Jon ending the faction. The purpose of the faction was meant as each individual become a big star. Hence, the implosion was inevitable.

In a couple of instances, The Shield reunited. During the Survivor Series 2017, The Shield fought on behalf of Raw against Smackdown. When Roman announced Luekemia and was set to be out of action for an indefinite time, the Shield reunited. When Moxley was set to bid adieu to WWE, The Shield reunited again. The faction has a lot of close followers.
