On December 11, AEW Dynamite performed at the T-Mobile Centre in Kansas City, Missouri. As they continued to prepare for Worlds End, this was a significant night for the organization. Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly engaged in a heated argument during this week's episode of AEW Dynamite. At the December 28 pay-per-view, the victor would face MJF.
The second hour of this week's broadcast began with this contest. The two lifelong friends fought for the opportunity to obtain MJF, which they both coveted, at Worlds End. Both former members of the Undisputed Era fought back and forth in this bout.On Wednesday, Cole repelled MJF's attempt to meddle in the match. Eventually, Adam Cole won after he executed a roll-up pin. Cole's matchup with MJF for his Dynamite Diamond Ring at AEW Worlds End was later confirmed by the broadcast team.
Adam Cole betrayed MJF
Following their victory in the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale with Kyle O'Reilly, the two met up tonight for a confirmed encounter with The Salt of the Earth and his Diamond Ring. Cole prevailed and deserved his moment despite Friedman's meddling. Cole attempted to patch things up with O'Reilly after they had a confrontation with the Diamond Ring holder, but O'Reilly simply left. Adam Cole will now take on MJF at the Worlds End PPV.
Since 2019, MJF has been with MJF solely for nearly five years. A new rivalry will take place between Adam Cole vs. MJF at AEW Worlds End. At the 2023 pay-per-view, Cole previously betrayed MJF by revealing that he was "The Devil." On December 28, 2024, AEW will perform Worlds End at Orlando, Florida's Addition Financial Arena. This year has been a wild one for the promotion, and the event will be Tony Khan's company's final opportunity to put a bow on it.
