'AEW is where the best wrestle' - Tony Khan when asked if he's interested to wrestle

Tony Khan was in an interview recently where he was asked about his interest in wrestling. The AEW Boss claimed that such a scenario was not on the cards. He hyped the AEW roster by saying that a lot of the best wrestlers in the world are in the company. He claimed AEW as the promotion where the best wrestle and wanted it to be that way.

"I still don't think that's in the cards, but a lot of the best wrestlers in the world right now, [are] in AEW, and I think the best wrestling and where the best wrestle is our tagline, and I want to keep it that way and keep myself out of the ring," said Tony Khan.

The question was asked in reference to some of the other companies where the boss himself is involved in the story. The best example of it was WWE where Vince McMahon used to be an active part of the stories. He not only wrestled but took high risks often reaching limits.

Tony has not often been involved in the stories himself. Like Vince, he is very much a part of the creative storytelling team. However, he is not a part of the action. The only instance recently where it was teased was during the return of Jack Perry.

The scapegoat returned to the company for the first time since AEW All In 2023 and turned against his boss. Many thought Tony could be involved in the story of the Elite. However, nothing was done by Tony to Perry even after getting beaten badly. 

Fans did not like the fact that his potential involvement in a feud was teased but was never touched upon later. It seems like Khan is happy to work behind the scenes and let the wrestlers do their job. Fans felt it could be much better if he got involved in some of the stories. Tony might not be involved as a wrestler in the near future.
