At the beginning of the 5th day of the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024, India is placed in the 27th position in the medal tally with a total of a Gold, 2 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals. Many athletes have made India proud with their terrific performances so far. Shooting and Athletics have provided all the medals for India with other sports catching up soon.

Avani Lekhara and Preethi Pal have been the stars so far. While the former won a Gold medal, the latter has bagged herself two Bronze medals similar to Manu Bhaker. Avani bagged the Gold medal in the Women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 Category with a new Paralympics record. In the same event, Mona Agarwal claimed the Bronze medal.

Preethi Pal won two Bronze medals in the track events. She was behind the two Chinese racers in both events and claimed the third position. Preethi took part in the Women's 100m T35 and the Women's 200m T35 events and bagged Bronze medals in both events respectively. Some other Shooters and Athletes have managed to bag multiple medals at the Paralympics so far. They have helped India in the eventual medal tally.

Shooters and Athletes carry Indian contingent

Manish Narwal, who was the Gold Medalist in Tokyo, managed to bag a Silver medal in Paris. the star shooter claimed the second position in the Men's 10m Air Pistol Rapid SH1 category. In the process, he pulled off a Neeraj Chopra. In the same category in the Women's division, Rubina Francis won the Bronze medal for India. There has been a Silver medal for India in Athletics.

Nishad Kumar managed to defend his Silver medal at the Paris Paralympics. After winning Silver in Tokyo, Nishad put on an impressive show in Paris with a best performance of jumping 2.04 meters in the Men's High Jump T47 Category. Apart from them, there are some athletes who have been exceptional so far and have confirmed a medal for themselves in different events. One can expect many medals for India in the upcoming days.
