Neeraj Chopra's mother reacted to Neeraj Chopra bagging a silver medal at the Paris Olympics in the men's Javelin throw. While she was happy for her son's best throw of 89.45 meters, she was even happy for Arshad Nadeem throwing the Javelin for over 90 meters not just once but twice. Saroj Devi claimed Arshad to be her own son.

"We are happy with the silver. The one who got the gold (Arshad Nadeem) is also my child," said Saroj as she praised both the throwers. She felt both of them deserved to be praised as they had difficult paths on their way to achieving big things. Arshad Nadeem scripted history as he became the first Pakistani individual athlete to win a gold medal at the Olympics.

It was a feat achieved by Neeraj from India at the Tokyo Olympics. Saroj added that Silver was equivalent to gold for them as their sons did well at the Olympics. She claimed Neeraj was injured and hence it was a good performance. "For us silver is also equal to gold...he was injured, so we are happy with his performance," added Saroj.

Epic showdown in Javelin Throw

Neeraj Chopra gave a good performance at the Paris Olympics 2024. He threw the Javelin for an impressive distance of 89.45 meters in his second attempt. It was not just his season-best but also the second-best throw in his career. Despite his best efforts, a gold medal was far from his reach, thanks to Arshad who had an insane night in Paris.

The 27-year-old shattered the Olympic record with his second throw which travelled a distance of 92.97 meters. He crossed the 90-m mark in his third throw by registering a throw of 91.27 meters. Anderson Peters of Grenada clinched the Bronze medal as he managed to throw the Javelin for a distance of 88.54 meters.
