There are some similarities between Neeraj Chopra and Roman Reigns in their careers. As Neeraj prepares to defend his gold medal in the Javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024, it is worth looking back at his and Roman's careers. Both of them began their careers on an impressive note. While Roman started in NXT, Chopra started at the junior level.

In his stint with NXT, Roman Reigns was termed as the next big thing in the company. Similarly, Neeraj won the gold medal in the World Junior Championship in 2016 becoming the next big thing in the Javelin throw. 'The Big Dog' won the Unites States Championship during his period with the Shield. Likewise, Neeraj won the Asian Games gold medal with a new Asian record.

There was a dull phase in their careers. In 2019, Neeraj was injured and did not take part in any event for a long time. In the same year, Roman revealed to the WWE world that he was suffering from Leukaemia and left for treatment. He returned to the company as a face. His return as the Tribal Chief in 2020 was epic, since then he has been loved by the fans as a villain.

Will Neeraj Chopra defend his gold medal?

Neeraj Chopra scripted history by becoming the first Indian Track and Field athlete to win an Olympic gold. Roman won the Universal Championship at Payback 2020 and unified it with the WWE Championship to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The streak remained for 1316 days until he was beaten by Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL.

Neeraj is the current champion in the Javelin Throw and has remained the Gold medalist at the Olympics for 1096 days. After remaining out of action for 4 months, Roman returned as the 'Original Tribal Chief' hoping to reclaim his lost title. The focus now would be on Neeraj who would be hoping to defend his gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.
