There was once again a lot of high expectations of the track and field star who had one of the best throws in the qualifiers and was no doubt one of the favorites to win the Gold medal in Paris as well. All eyes were on him in of the global events once again.

Neeraj Chopra had already created history as he won the first gold medal for the country in track and field events in Tokyo. This officially made him one of the top athletes in the world and he went on to become an absolute sensation. Neeraj was not only done there as he also went on to become one of the best Javelin throwers in the World and was the current World number 2 going into this contest. Neeraj falls short of Gold as Arshad Nadeem breaks Olympic Record

There were high hopes for Neeraj Chopra in this event as he was no doubt a favorite to retain his Gold after his throw of 89.34 in the qualifiers. However the thrower who stole the show on the day was Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem who broke the Olympic record in the second round with a monstrous throw of 92.97. Neeraj Chopra did best his score from qualifiers throwing 89.45 but it was still not good enough to retain his gold medal. It might have not been the best of days for Chopra as well as there was only one perfect throw he could achieve in the finals but that was still enough to get him a silver medal.

There is no doubt all of us wanted Chopra to win the Gold once again, but this is still a great achievement as he is still the first Indian to win back-to-back Olympic medals in Athletics and has still made his nation proud on the day. This was still a good day for the Indian team and Neeraj Chopra as he has once again impressed us with his performance and will still be a national hero for all of us
