Carlo Ancelotti's future is currently a hot topic of discussion following the team's fifth defeat this season. While they hold the second position in La Liga, they are also positioned 24th in the Champions League, which is the last spot for potential advancement to the knockout stages.
Ancelotti has expressed that he feels the media coverage may not fully reflect the complexities of the situation. The recent addition of Kylian Mbappe to the Real Madrid squad didn't go as planned as the striker had been awful at best.
Zidane doesn't want to return to Madrid
Zinedine Zidane had definitively ruled out the possibility of returning to Real Madrid for a third time amid ongoing uncertainty regarding Carlo Ancelotti's future, according to a recent report.
Cadena SER confirmed that Raul, Solari, and Zidane are all seen as strong candidates to succeed Ancelotti if Real decides to part ways with the Italian manager. The club has set its sights on appointing Xabi Alonso in 2025, but Zidane is firm in his decision to not take on a contract until the end of the season. As one of Real's most successful managers, he boasts a great record, having won the Champions League three times and La Liga twice.
During his second tenure, Zidane joined the team midway through the 2018 season, stepping in to replace Solari and quickly turning things around. Just months later, Real Madrid claimed the Champions League title in a campaign that had initially seemed destined for failure.
However, a similar scenario is not expected to occur again. According to MD, Zidane has no plans to entertain a third spell at the Santiago Bernabeu. He is not in a hurry to return to management and is patiently awaiting the opportunity to succeed Didier Deschamps as the manager of the France national team, a position he anticipates will become available, following Dider Deschamps’ contract expiration.
