Arsenal legend Alan Smith has addressed recent comments from Erling Haaland's father, suggesting a more measured response to Myles Lewis-Skelly's goal celebration. After Lewis-Skelly scored during his team's 5-1 win against Manchester City, he imitated Haaland's signature meditation pose, which sparked some debate among pundits.

Earlier this season, Haaland aggressively threw the ball at Gabriel Magalhaes' head following John Stones' dramatic 97th-minute equaliser in the reverse fixture. He asked Mikel Arteta to "stay humble" during the intense post-match altercations. The striker didn't hold back in his mockery of Lewis Skelly, bluntly asking, "Who are you?"

After Arsenal delivered a decisive blow at the Emirates, Haaland's father took issue with his son becoming the punchline, highlighting Arsenal's ongoing trophy drought.

Smith has responded, stating that Lewis-Skelly's behaviour was humorous and suggesting that Alf-Inge should stop reliving his son's accomplishments. Pep Guardiola has stated that he does not want his players to retaliate in their next match against Arsenal.

"Haaland's dad had a little chip, didn't he? Saying, Oh, yeah, all those trophies you've won, or something like that. I thought, Oh, leave it. It's just funny! " said Alan Smith.

"By the way, Alf-Inge, you didn't win much! Back in your box. You can't live your life through your son, you know. It was a great moment, wasn't it? Those kinds of things are great," Smith added.

"It has happened. Later in our games, maybe we'll find them in the Champions League this season. Otherwise, it's over the chance we can face, and next season we'll try to beat them. This season we could not do it at home and away," Pep said after the disappointing loss.
