Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff could be exploring options for midfielder Casemiro in the current transfer window, as reported by some sources.
Casemiro, often recognized as one of the best holding midfielders, has been part of only four Premier League matches under Amorim, though he has yet to complete a full game in those appearances.
Having joined the club for approximately £70 million in 2022 after a successful tenure with Real Madrid, the Premier League side is still considering how to best utilize one of the greats of this generation.
The Brazilian star has not featured in 10 of the last 13 matches, and Amorim has now noted that the 32-year-old's playing style may not align perfectly with the team's current approach.
“It has to be the characteristics and then I have to choose the player with characteristics that I see in the game, so it’s just that,” he explained.
“I have to make some choices. I want to play a style of game that is sometimes different from other coaches and I have to choose [players] based on that. That’s all.” Amorim added.
Casemiro, a five-time Champions League winner, has faced troubles in finding his rhythm during his time at Old Trafford. While arriving at the age of 30 can be viewed as a sign of experience in the sport, his fans hoped that he had more opportunities to show his true potential for the Red Devils.
Earlier, it was revealed that Amorim had reached a breaking point with Casemiro's lack of form and was prepared to sell the midfielder. Casemiro no longer fits the transfer strategy of the new owners, INEOS, who are focused on acquiring younger players that can be developed and sold for a profit in the future.
According to Fichajes, Cristiano Ronaldo is eager to welcome his former teammate to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
