La Liga president Javier Tebas recently provided an important update regarding Dani Olmo's status with Barcelona. The talented Spanish international is currently set to play for the Catalan club, thanks to a temporary injunction that has been granted. However, the final determination will still be made by the Consejo Superior de Deportes, and fans are awaiting a conclusive decision.

Laliga President provided insights into Olmo's case

Several Laiiga clubs have raised concerns regarding Olmo’s registration, and Tebas has acknowledged the validity of their concerns. He emphasized that their decision to file the appropriate appeals reflects their belief in the necessity for a fair legal resolution to the matter at hand.

”We are against his registration and we are putting the resources that correspond to us to the corresponding organizations. And we ask that he not be registered,” he told Marca.

“We believe that he should not be registered and we obviously believe that we have a chance that he will not be.” he added.

”In the field of sports law, when a player has a licence, and at this moment Dani Olmo has a licence to play, a match cannot be challenged, even if they may later rule in our favour.” he concluded.

A final decision regarding the Olmo saga will be made by the beginning of April, at the latest.

Dani Olmo's exploits at Barcelona

Dani Olmo has recorded six goals and three assists in 18 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona this season. It’s worth noting that he has missed eight matches this campaign due to injuries.

Olmo, who progressed through the ranks at Camp Nou, left the Catalans in 2014 without making it to the first team. After a successful six-year tenure with Dinamo Zagreb, the 26-year-old made the move to RB Leipzig in January 2020.

Olmo became a sought-after player last summer. Despite the competition, the Spaniard was determined to return to Barcelona, and the club successfully secured his signature. His contract with the Catalans is set to run until 2030.
