Kyle Bartley expressed his frustration as tensions escalated after West Brom's thrilling victory over Sheffield on Wednesday. The Baggies secured a crucial win by scoring in the 97th minute, boosting their chances in the Championship playoff race this season. However, after the match concluded, a violent brawl broke out on the pitch between the players.

Following the match, Bartley was seen pushing his arm into an opponent's face amid the chaos. Teammates quickly intervened, pulling the West Brom captain away from the fracas. He then hit the referee with his elbow straight onto his face.

Jayson Molumby delivered a corner just seconds before the final whistle, solidifying West Brom's position in the top six. However, chaos erupted after the final whistle at the Hawthorns when home captain Bartley was shown a red card during a heated brawl.

A confrontation ensued involving players from both teams, with Bartley and Wednesday's Svante Ingelsson at the forefront. West Brom's goal-scoring hero, Molumby, was seen by several Wednesday players as taunting them after his dramatic late winner.

As Ingelsson advanced towards the Irishman, Bartley was observed making contact with the midfielder's face. Referee Tom Nield witnessed the incident and issued a straight red card to the Baggies captain.

This red card comes shortly after Bartley's return from a calf injury that sidelined him for a major part of January.

At 33 years old, he has established himself as one of the longest-serving players at West Brom since joining the club in 2018.

The atmosphere at the Hawthorns was electric, especially in the closing moments of the early Championship kick-off. Callum Paterson confidently seized the opportunity, equating Danny Rohl's seventh-placed Wednesday with a dramatic strike in the 93rd minute.

However, Molumby had different plans as he found the net for the fourth time this season and ascertained his side remains in the fifth spot.
