Trent Alexander-Arnold is frequently in the news due to his contract ending with Liverpool this summer and he is getting interest by La Liga giants Real Madrid. Real Madrid's continued interest in the Liverpool full-back in the face of an unclear future is likely due to either his perceived defensive shortcomings or his creative genius. The match between Liverpool vs Manchester United was highly intense as Amad Diallo missed a fantastic opportunity at the other end, while Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister came close for the home squadl, both sides started the game with serious intent.

Before Lisandro Martinez gave United their first goal in six Premier League, Anfield trips in the 52nd minute, Ryan Gravenberch and Rasmus Hojlund exchanged attempts in a very close first half. However, seven minutes later, Gakpo smashed home to level the score, just when it appeared that the Red Devils could win the day. With a 2-2 draw against 14th-place Manchester United, leaders Liverpool were lucky to escape Anfield, but the 26-year-old had a memorable afternoon.

Due to his poor defensive play, Trent Alexander-Arnold, is currently in the last six months of his contract at his hometown club, was responsible for the opening goal scored by the visitors. After Diogo Dalot gave him a rough afternoon and Conor Bradley took his place in the 86th minute, he received harsh criticism from several commentators and on social media.

Former United captain Roy Keane told Sky Sports, "There's talk about him going to Real Madrid, the way he's defending he's going to Tranmere Rovers after this. He's got to do better. League Two side Tranmere were quick to offer a witty response to Keane's jibe on social media, posting a picture of their full-back Cameron Norman on X under the message: "Trent to Tranmere Roy? Nah, we're alright thanks."

Arne Slot backs Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool’s coach Arne Slot acknowledges that various people would have different opinions, but he does not think the Real Madrid rumors had a significant influence. With his contract expiring this summer, Alexander-Arnold has been silent about his future at Liverpool, and it has been implied that the rumors may have "unnerved" him. According to reports, the Reds have stepped up their efforts to retain him on better terms, but Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid wants to sign him in January or on a free transfer at the end of the season.
