The Galacticos approached this final in excellent form, remaining unbeaten in their last three matches, with two victories under their belt. On the other side, Los Tuzos, the reigning CONCACAF Champions Cup winners, had defeated Botafogo in the second round and overcame the Egyptian team Al Ahly 6-5 in a thrilling penalty shootout last week.

Real Madrid boasted a great track record in FIFA competitions and started as the clear favourite. Meanwhile, Los Tuzos entered the arena with confidence, having secured clean sheets in both of their Intercontinental Cup matches. They looked to deliver a stunning performance against the European giants.

The Tale of the fixture

Real Madrid seized control in the first half with an exceptional team goal.

They showed coordination through midfield, with Bellingham setting up Vinicius Jr. Vinicius skillfully manoeuvred past the goalkeeper, employing a couple of clever stepovers before delivering a precise square pass to Mbappe, who expertly finished from close range.

Rodrygo doubled Real Madrid’s lead over Pachuca in the 53rd minute. The Brazilian gathered the ball at the edge of the box, skillfully cut to his left to manoeuvre past two Pachuca defenders, and unleashed a powerful shot with his right foot, sending it past Moreno in goal. Mbappe, who had scored the opening goal, provided the assist.

Real Madrid effectively sealed Pachuca's fate by scoring their third goal from the spot just minutes before the end of the match. Vinicius directed the ball into the left side of the net, and although Moreno managed to get a hand on it, he was unable to prevent it from crossing the line.
