ITV and BBC Sport have secured free-to-air rights for the 2026 and 2030 FIFA World Cups, offering extensive coverage across TV, radio, and digital platforms.

The BBC and ITV have secured the media rights to broadcast the 2026 and 2030 FIFA Men’s World Cups in the UK, continuing their long-standing partnership in delivering major international football tournaments. The deal ensures that fans across the UK can enjoy free-to-air coverage of the upcoming World Cups, which will occur in North America (2026) and across three host continents (2030).

Both broadcasters will provide extensive coverage of the World Cups, including live match broadcasts, highlights, and exclusive content. ITV will offer coverage across various platforms, including ITV1, ITV4, ITVX, STV, and STV Player, as well as special programming on its social media channels. Meanwhile, the BBC will continue its commitment to showcasing the tournament through TV, radio, and digital platforms, ensuring widespread access for audiences. ITV director of sport, Niall Sloane opined on bragging the rights.

“We are looking forward to bringing these two tournaments free-to-air across ITV and ITVX. The World Cup always delivers some of the most memorable, historic and exciting moments in the sporting calendar and we are pleased to display the finest footballing action to the widest possible audience.” Sloane was quoted as saying by SVG News.

BBC Director of Sport, Alex Kay-Jelski and FIFA Secretary, Mattias Grafstrom shared their views on it.
