Chelsea lost the second leg during their qualifying play-off match against Servette in Switzerland, but they still advanced to the UEFA Conference League league stage. After Mykhailo Mudryk was fouled by Keigo Tsunemoto, Christopher Nkunku's penalty after 14 minutes gave Enzo Maresca's team a 2-0 lead following the first leg a week prior.

After gaining possession of Dereck Kutesa's ball and making a first-time shot across Filip Jorgensen, Jeremy Guillemenot gave Servette a response. The Swiss team took the lead for the evening thanks to a combination of two Servette replacements and Enzo Crivelli's header from Miroslav Stevanovic's left-wing cross. Nevertheless, Chelsea battled on to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory as the hosts were unable to score another goal to send the match into overtime.

How did the second leg between Servette and Chelsea pan out?

Joel Mall saved a beautiful 25-yard effort from Enzo Fernandez to give Chelsea a two-goal lead after just three minutes of play. Prior to the match, Maresca stated he was not concerned about complacency.

However, similar to the opening leg, Nkunku scored from the spot on the hour mark to appear to put the contest beyond the Swiss team. However, in the 32nd minute, Guillemenot scored with Servette's first genuine opportunity, making the final score of the game 1-1. Kutesa rushed through on an inadequate pitch and Jorgensen denied him from a close angle, giving the home team another opportunity.

Noni Madueke, a winger for Chelsea, has had a fantastic start to the season. He got called up for his first trip to the England team previously Thursday after scoring a hat-trick in the weekend's 6-2 victory over Wolves.

He netted the second goal for the Blues in the first leg and appeared to have a wonderful chance at the start of the second half in Geneva, but strong defence kept him out. Before Cole Palmer struck the crossbar and Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea had a goal disallowed for offside, Crivelli's header set for a wild conclusion. Timothe Cognat's attempt during the fourth minute of additional time went wide, denying Servette a 3-3 lead overall.
