Chelsea received an entry in the UEFA Conference League as compensation for finishing in sixth place. Their opponents are now Servette FC from Switzerland. They were technically qualified to compete in the UEFA Europa League but were eliminated from contention after a close loss to SC Braga from Portugal in the competition's preliminary qualifying round. Though greatly favored, Braga only just managed to make it through.

Just 26 players from Chelsea's initial 42-man roster are listed with UEFA for this match. This comprises four additional players on the B-list, Tyrique George, Josh Acheampong, Levi Colwill, and Kiano Dyer, in addition to the 22 players on the "A list." Tosin Adarabioyo, who got inadvertently omitted off the first UEFA list, is not among the 22.

For players like Ben Chilwell, Đorđe Petrović, Raheem Sterling, and everyone else on the cutting board, there will be no such luck. Despite having a hamstring issue, Reece James is part of the squad. After missing a whole year due to an injury, Wesley Fofana had to be held off to control his workload. João Félix is not qualified because he didn't show up in time to register.

Last weekend's dismal 2-0 loss to Manchester City marked the start of the Maresca Era. The season officially started with that game; not too many people were shocked to see them start with a loss.

Chelsea vs Servette set to be shown on official club website

There will be no live television coverage of Chelsea vs. Servette's two-leg match, with the first leg taking place at Stamford Bridge.  The reason for this is that TNT Sports only has restricted access to the qualifying stages, while having live broadcasting rights to the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League tournaments in the UK.

Therefore, there are no broadcasted Europa League as well as Conference League play-off round matches, despite the fact that keen-eyed viewers may have observed that Champions League qualification matches were carried on the channel on Tuesday.

UEFA, on the other hand, permits the participating clubs to profit from the sale of their own broadcasting rights. Chelsea has made the decision to stream the match on their main page; both legs will cost £4.99 to watch.
