During the final quarter-final of the Copa America 2024, Endrick dribbled the ball through Araujo with lightning speed, weaving around him to resume his run. But Araujo bounced back quickly enough to return and succeed in his tackle. While stopping the tackle, he admitted the foul. That surely led to tensions between both the teams as other players also got involved.
Ronald Araujo’s FC Barcelona teammate did not hold back after the tackle and executed a shove which shocked not only the centre-back but also the football community. The tackle not only shows how much passion South American players have for the sport and are willing to give it their all for the win in this tournament.
Later on, Ronald Araujo appeared to be in discomfort and had fallen, which was devastating news for Uruguay. Although he was given medical care, it appears that he hyperextended his knee when attempting to make the block in the game against Brazil.
As he left the pitch, Araujo appeared to be in tears. He was capable of walking and wasn't being carried off on a stretcher, which was a plus. Therefore, if Uruguay wins over Brazil today, it still remains to be observed how serious the damage is and whether or not he will be able to play for the remainder of the tournament.

Real Madrid forward Endrick makes Copa America debut
On Saturday at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada, Las Vegas, the Canaries take on Uruguay during the Copa America 2024 quarterfinal, with teenage phenom Endrick starting for Brazil for the first time.
The 17-year-old is replacing Vincius Junior, who has been barred from participating in this match due to two yellow cards he received during the group round. Endrick's debut for his country occurred in a November 2023 World Cup qualifier against Colombia, coming off the bench. A few days later, the teenager earned another game as a substitute versus Argentina prior to scoring his first goal for his country in a friendly match versus England.
