FC Barcelona were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the 2nd leg of the quarter-finals. In the match, some decisions did not favour the Blaugranes as Ronald Araujo was shown a red card after the centre-back brought down Bradley Barcola near the edge of the box. Around the 30th minute, for a late challenge on the Frenchman, he was sent off the game and that is where the game changed for PSG.

Against a 10-man Barca, they pressed and made them commit mistakes despite being the home side ahead, they scored the equaliser in the first half with former Catalonia man Ousmane Dembele scoring against his former club. Vitinha scored the second and after that, a brace from Kylian Mbappe sealed the game. Xavi was also sent off for kicking the board of UCL, as the Barca coach was furious with the refereeing. After all the controversy, and weeks have passed the PSG winger has opened about the incident.

Barcola stated that he saw that the challenge was coming after the end of the 1st leg and the winger made up his mind to make the run with the ball from the counterattack as the Uruguayan defender was very fast and he had to go past him to bring in the mistake for the defender and exactly something similar happened.

The Frenchman further highlighted how the situation was a win-win scenario for him against the Barcelona star, "He caught me there, so I told myself I was going to pass directly in front of him. I knew that could make him make a mistake or leave me one-on-one with the goalkeeper."

PSG will be facing Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final. The two teams previously met in the group stage where the French team won one game and the second leg was a draw. The reigning Ligue 1 champions are just a win away from defending their domestic trophy once again in the season. Luis Enrique's side has the best chance to win the UCL as they are the favourites to qualify for the final scheduled in Wembley.
