Earlier, City secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Forest at Wembley, earning their spot in a third consecutive FA Cup final, making them only the sixth club to achieve this feat. However, the coach remained far from satisfied with his team's overall performance, particularly after Liverpool officially claimed the Premier League title from them by defeating Tottenham 5-1 on Sunday.
"Before I start, on behalf of myself and all the club, we want to congratulate Liverpool Football Club for their Premier League victory. Well deserved, no doubts about that. A fantastic team. During one year, like it happened the last four years, they're going to retain the title, and hopefully next season we can be better at competing until the end that which season was not possible. So congratulations to Liverpool." Pep said.
City finds itself 21 points shy of Liverpool with only four matches remaining in the season. As a result, they are on track to conclude the campaign with their lowest point total since Guardiola took over as coach in 2016. Additionally, they have not advanced to the UEFA Champions League's last 16 for the first time since 2012.
"Noooooooo. This season has not been good, We are a thousand million points behind Liverpool. It's not good. Look at the Champions League. We won one game? Two games? We were always a machine, and we have not been good, but the damage will be minor. It is not going to confuse that the season has been good. The club have to make the right decisions so next season will be better." He added.
Manchester City will go toe-to-toe against Crystal Palace in the finals of the FA Cup 2025. They will also look to consolidate their top 5 spot with victories in the remaining Premier League matches of the season.
