WATCH: Dominic Solanke's lone goal leads Tottenham Hotspur into the semi-final of UEFA Europa League

Tottenham Hotspur escaped a narrow defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. Dominic Solanke scored a penalty in first half, which helped Tottenham Hotspur to go into the semi-finals. Tottenham Hotspur secured win the game by 1-0 win and on aggregate 2-1, giving some relief for manager Ange Postecoglou. 

Since Harry Kane left Tottenham Hotspur, Dominic Solanke has stepped up for Tottenham Hotspur when the team is in a struggle. In this Europa League season, Solanke has been a key player for the club. He appeared in 10 games and scored three goals, and gave four assists. Only Bobby Zamora in 2009–10 and James Tavernier in 2021–22 have scored more goals in a season among English players than Solanke, who finished with three goals and four assists. As Tottenham Hotspur progress in the league, the club will he him step up more often to end the trophy drought.

As the game started, Eintracht Frankfurt started to put pressure on Tottenham Hotspur as Rasmus Kristensen and Fares Chaibi were a constant threat to the Tottenham goalkeeper. They had some chance to get them on the scoring sheet, but they failed to do so. However, the only goal in the game came from Dominic Solanke, which put an end to Tottenham three three-match losing streak in away games. Winning the game, Tottenham displayed a strong message to another team by showing great teamwork other pressure.

After winning the Postecoglouremained calm and silent to his critics as he said, "I doubt it. I said yesterday I'm the same coach today that I was yesterday, and my pleasure just comes from watching this group of players rewarded." Postecoglou's job may come under danger if he again fails to get the trophy for the club.

Tottenham Hotspur to face Bodo/Glimit in semi-final of UEL

As the semi-finals approach near Tottenham will play against Bodo/Glimit, who made a comeback against Lazio. Lazio's defense opened up as Bodo/Glimt scored two late goals in the match, heading the match into a penalty shoot-out. Tijjani Noslin and Andresas Helmersen scored two goals for the team.

However, Bodo/Glimt beat Lazio on penalties by 3-2. Both teams are sharing a common goal as their journey continues, for Europa glory. The semi-final of the Europa League will demonstrate a big game from both clubs as both are having a trophy drought for a long time.
