PSG defeated Arsenal 1-0 at the Emirates after Ousmane Dembele's early goal gave them the lead in their Champions League semi-final matchup. Dembele gave PSG the lead in the fourth minute. Dembele scored his eighth goal of the tournament after the Georgian winger, who had received the ball on the left, surged into the area and set up the goal.
PSG maintained their slim advantage and stopped the home team from scoring a goal in the first leg of the UCL semi-final. Arsenal scored a goal as Mikel Merino netted the ball past PSG goalkeeper, but it was offside and the goal was disallowed. While Gianluigi Donnorumma had a busy day at the goalpost as Arsenal was continuously counterattacking. This was Arsenal's first Semi-final game since 2009, and they gave everything.

With Khvicha Kvaratskhelia proving to be a threat for Mikel Arteta's team, PSG dominated the first twenty-five minutes at the Emirates Stadium, and the Gunners could hardly get a kick. PSG could have got more advantage on the first leg if Marquinhos' header had been more perfect. David Raya easily caught the ball in his hands, and later he also blocked Doue's and Kvaratskhelia's attempts.

Arsenal failed to score goal
Just before halftime, Arsenal got a chance to equalise the match as Gabriel Martinelli nearly connected with a cross from Bukayo Saka, which gave Arsenal a chance to regain control of the match. The Gunners believed they had equalised when Merino headed in from Declan Rice's free kick, but the goal was disallowed following a VAR review. Arsenal dominated the first half, but Donnarumma did not let Arteta's team get over him. In the end, Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos wasted the opportunity for the Ligue 1 powerhouses to have a greater advantage going into the second leg. This season, Luis Enrique's team has improved and is now a threat to Arsenal in the second leg. The second leg of the semi-final will be on 7th May.
