David de Gea's fast thinking ultimately saved the game. Especially when he denied Arsenal an equalizer in the 57th minute by double-stopping Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester United defeated Arsenal

The Red Devils managed to stay within five points of Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola's team still has a game in hand, thanks to De Gea's saves that enabled them overcome Paul Pogba's red card in the second half. It was Mourinho's first victory away from home in 11 games against the "Big Six" and the Gunners' first home defeat after 12 straight victories. Arsenal dropped to fifth position.
