The prince of Brazilian football, Neymar Junior, had an emotional reunion with his former national teammate, Thiago Silva. Thiago Silva was representing Fluminense while Neymar was with his boyhood club, Santos FC.
The 40-year-old defender last represented Brazil in 2022 along with Neymar Junior in the FIFA World Cup. He hasn't been called up for national duty since 2022.

Neymar Junior meets Thiago Silva
Both the Brazilian football icons were seen talking on the sidelines of Maracanã Stadium ahead of Santos's clash against Fluminense. The former Selecao teammates exchanged a hug as Neymar returned to the field after recovering from an injury. The crowd cheered as both the veterans hugged.
Neymar Junior made his long-awaited return to the Brazilian Serie A, playing his first match for his boyhood club, Santos, after transferring from Al-Hilal during the January transfer window. The 33-year-old came off the bench in the second half, having been sidelined for over a month due to a hamstring injury. Unfortunately for Santos, Fluminense secured a 1-0 victory with a last-minute goal from Samuel Xavier Brito.
Brazil's highest-ever goal scorer, Neymar Junior, is now expected to be a regular starter for Santos, moving ahead in the final phase of Brazil's top flight.
Thiago Silva has represented several top European clubs like Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain and AC Milan. His two most distinctive European stints came for Chelsea and PSG between 2012 to 2024. It is also speculated that the veteran defender will call it a day at the end of his current contract. Silva has also represented Brazil in 113 matches and netted 7 goals for the national side.
