Argentine football star Lionel Messi finally propelled his side to victory after a long losing streak. The little man from Rosario scored a brace in his club's recent fixture to help the side claim victory.

Inter Miami defeated Montreal by a scoreline of 4-2. Lionel Messi was the pick of the players for his four-goal contributions in this match.

Lionel Messi fires a thunderous goal 

FIFA World Cup-winning Argentine star Lionel Messi gave a glimpse of his prime days when he led his side against Montreal at the Chase Stadium. The left-footed magician scored an outrageous goal from outside the box right at the start of the fixture. Sergio Busquets took charge of the ball deep in the midfield. He carried it towards Montreal's box and passed it to Messi. Messi adeptly controlled the ball, foxed a couple of defenders and unleashed a powerful strike at the back of the net. The shot went low to the left corner of the Montreal goalkeeper, who couldn't save it.

This was just the beginning of what proved to be an awesome game for the 36-year-old star. He scored another goal in the 87th minute before assisting his teammate Luis Suarez twice in the match. Lionel Messi now has a total of 862 career goals to his name. The former Barcelona talisman is already a legend for Inter Miami, being their top scorer. He has netted 45 goals in just 57 appearances for the club since joining it in 2023.

The Herons will play their next match against Columbus on June 1st. They will participate in the newly revamped 2025 FIFA Club World Cup from June 15th. The Herons will start their campaign against the Egyptian side Al-Ahlyy.
