Thanks to Lamine Yamal's first strike of the season, FC Barcelona leads Athletic Club 1-0 in a crucial La Liga match. Before kickoff, Nico Williams, the star of Athletic Club, was the centre of attention; but, 24 minutes in, Lamine Yamal provided an illustration of his talent.

In the first few minutes, neither team produced much of an impact, with the hosts' defence denying Williams two half-chances. Lamine Yamal, nevertheless, had the crucial moment when he bent in a miraculous goal after Athletic Club struggled to get rid of a cross in their penalty box.

FC Barcelona is looking to secure consecutive La Liga triumphs at full time, and they have won the last five of their home league matches against their Basque opponents. The home crowd felt echoes of his incredible goal in the semi-final of UEFA Euro 2024 versus France as he came in from the right flank and curled home from the very edge of the box.

After providing an assist during Barcelona's season-opening 2-1 victory over Valencia, Yamal is back on the scoresheet. He played in 50 games last season, tallying seven goals and seven assists; this season, he hopes to better that total.

The next game for FC Barcelona is scheduled for Tuesday against Rayo Vallecano. Yamal is probably going to become involved again and would be hoping to contribute more for the Catalan giants.

“He helps us keep possession, which is very important” : Hansi Flick

However, before this pivotal game, FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was not holding back in praising Yamal and his early talent. Yamal is clearly one of Barcelona's best players on the training pitch based on the fact that Flick praised him for his efforts.

The former Bayern Munich Head coach said, “Lamine Yamal? What I see from him in training is truly incredible. He helps us keep possession, which is very important. We didn’t do that well in Valencia.”
