Cristian Romero, the centre-back for Tottenham Hotspur has given his views on the UEFA Euro 2024. Spain won the tournament in convincing fashion on the 14th of July after a 2-1 win against England. With this win, Spain turned out to be the only nation to win the tournament a record four times.

The Argentina defender is grateful that the Spanish team were able to win the UEFA Euro 2024 since he would not want the English players at the club to flaunt the trophy to him. Therefore, he was more than thrilled to see Spain get the all important win in the final.

Recently the Copa America 2024 winner said that, "I liked Spain more in the Euros. The English would have gotten too cocky if they had won, and I’d have had to put up with them all year long."

Cristian Romero set to stay at Tottenham Hotspur despite transfer rumours

Cristian Romero's representatives are rumoured to have contacted Real Madrid back in June, but the vice captain of Tottenham is not expected to play this summer after declaring his desire to win a championship with Spurs.

Despite rumours of a transfer to Real Madrid, Cristian Romero has stated his desire to win a title with Tottenham. The World Cup and Copa America-winning central defender's reps reportedly contacted Los Blancos in June, but the Champions League winners have not yet followed up on their interest.

Additionally, Spurs see vice captain Romero to be a crucial component of Ange Postecoglou's ambitions, so even if a high-ball offer came in, it would probably be turned down because there isn't any desire to talk about transfers.

He said in one of his recent interviews that, "I always strive to play at my best. I have a lot of respect for Tottenham. They've always given me a lot of support here, so I like playing here. I don't think about other clubs or their possibilities.”

The former Serie A defender added that, "I know there's a lot of talk about a possible move, but I'm calm. At my club I play differently to the national team, more forward. I still have years left in Europe and I want to see where I can go. Hopefully this year we can win a title at Tottenham."
