Barcelona ask Ansu Fati to leave club as Hansi Flick prepares player departure list ahead of transfer window closure

Barcelona are expected to make some crucial decisions in the coming days as they are in a race against time to finalise the player retention list. The Spanish powerhouse is reportedly busy trimming their first team squad and easing their hefty wage bill. It comes with just 20 days to go before the end of the summer transfer window.

It has been learned that Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has told Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes to find a new club for the youngster. Several high-earning players who don't suit new manager Hansi Flick's plans are likely to depart from the club. Ansu Fati is one of the notable names on the list.

The Spaniard, who was once considered to be the successor to the legendary Lionel Messi, has endured many challenges in recent times and found himself in a tough spot. The move to release high-paid players will help the club manage their financial needs.

Fati's unsuccessful loan to Brighton makes Barcelona lose faith 

Known for his attacking game at forward and on the wing, Fati's career has been plagued by constant injuries over the past few seasons. It is noteworthy that despite being aware of his struggles, Barcelona's new boss backed the 21-year-old noticing his improvements under his guidance. Fati demonstrated his dedication and skill but all his progress was halted by an injury.   

Meanwhile, if reports are to be believed, things have turned upside down and Fati is no more in the plans of Flick. It is understood that Fati’s unsuccessful loan to Brighton has also forced the youngster to lose the club’s faith. Barcelona have developed a competitive forward line with emerging stars such as Pau Victor and newly signed Dani Olmo, along with the potential arrival of Nico Williams.
