WATCH: Kylian Mbappe misses easy chance to score first goal in La Liga

Kylian Mbappe had the goal gaping at his mercy to score his first-ever goal in La Liga but the forward misfired his shot against Real Betis. The forward has not had a great start to life at Real Madrid despite scoring on his debut at the UEFA Super Cup on 14th August. If he is unable to find the back of the net against Real Betis today, this would be his fourth game in La Liga without a goal contribution.

During the 85th minute of the game against Real Betis,Vinicius Jr.'s attempt from the edge of the penalty area takes a nasty deflection, and the right-hand upright saves Betis, bringing him within inches of ending the tie. The ball rebounds right to Mbappe, who shaves off his attempt with the goal open, but his blushes are spared by the offside flag.

Is Kylian Mbappe the new problem at Real Madrid?

With Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé endured a lacklustre debut in La Liga, failing to record a point or an assist in all three of his matches in the top flight of Spain. The French media has taken notice of his apparent difficulties, stating that the captain of the France national team is incapable of playing centre forward, a position that he also struggled with while at Paris Saint-Germain.

Journalist Daniel Riolo of RMC Sport asserted on the After-Foot show that Carlo Ancelotti did commit the same error as France manager Didier Deschamps and PSG manager Luis Enrique by continuing to play Mbappé in the middle of the field when his effectiveness is far greater on the left wing.

Given the fact that Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior like the same starting spot on the left wing, there were concerns about how the Italian manager would combine them into one squad prior to the former Monaco star formally signing with Real Madrid. Riolo believes there is only one possible outcome at this point and believes that both players may end up "getting angry."
