Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has conceded that he was fortunate to be able to teach Kylian Mbappe in France, and that replacing the Frenchman will be challenging for the Ligue 1 winners.

It is worth noting that Mbappe is likely to move to Real Madrid during the summer, having declared his exit from PSG after the conclusion of the season. It is reported that everything linked to the player has been finished, and Madrid is simply waiting until the final of the UEFA Champions League before making the formal announcement of his signing.

When asked about the player, Enrique stated that it would prove difficult to say goodbye to Mbappe. Enrique spoke during the post-match press conference as he said, “I have had the good fortune to coach Kylian this season, it has been a difficult one for him after seven years at his club and all that he has achieved, it is difficult to say goodbye.”

Enrique added that they, along with the newly recruited players, would have to step up following the departure of Kylian Mbappé. However, he is optimistic that the club will finally win its first Champions League trophy. The Spanish manager worked with Mbappe in the final season of the striker's seven-year deal at PSG. Enrique made these remarks following PSG's Coupe de France final victory against Lyon on Saturday, which represented Mbappe's penultimate match for PSG ahead of his expected move to Real Madrid.

He added, “There is no substitute for Mbappe, we cannot replace him, we will do it through the team and four, five or six signings we can make.”

Finally, Enrique, who guided PSG towards a domestic treble during his first season as manager, stressed the necessity of preparing for the upcoming season, especially since just one player can fill the vacuum created by the French captain's departure.

The former FC Barcelona manager said, “Kylian’s replacement will be the team that, along with the fans and our ambition, will try to win everything in the following seasons.”
