Earlier, both Barcelona and Real Madrid were locked at a 2-2 scoreline in regulation time. Pedri and Ferran Torres netted for the Catalans while Kylian Mbappe and Tchouameni scored for the Galacticos. In the second half of extra-time, Joules Kounde intercepted a careless pass in the centre of the pitch and unleashed a powerful shot to the bottom left corner from outside Madrid's box. Thibault Courtois was unable to save it and Barcelona won 3-2.
With this Barcelona accomplished one-third of their target - the treble. They will next take on Inter Milan in the first leg of the UCL semi-finals.
