Enzo Fernandez went above and beyond by giving away his shorts rather than his jersey following Chelsea's 2-1 victory over West Ham on Monday. Fernandez shocked supporters by taking off his shorts and throwing them into the crowd after the thrilling comeback triumph, then sprinting away with only his shirt and underpants.

One lucky Chelsea supporter, apparently stunned by the gesture, went one step further and sniffed the shorts before taking a selfie. The bizarre moment was captured on Sky Sports, with Jamie Carragher reacting in shock and Gianfranco Zola laughing alongside him in the studio. Host David Jones joked that the shorts should go straight in the washing machine on a hot wash' before asking Zola if he had ever done something similar. The Chelsea legend reacted with ‘No.’

After a terrible first half hour, the game ended up being far more entertaining than it had appeared to be. There was a lot on the line, and as the game progressed West Ham scored. The Blues levelled the score shortly after the hour mark. The Portuguese winger slammed the ball home at the far post after Pedro Neto's cross caused chaos in the West Ham box and prevented them from clearing their lines.

Chelsea back in top four

After replays failed to show whether Marc Guiu had nodded on Neto's first delivery to an offside Marc Cucurella, the goal successfully escaped a protracted VAR offside check. Ten minutes later own goal from Aaron Wan-Bissaka gave Chelsea. When seven minutes were added to the match West Ham United game Kudus's shot was blocked by Tosin Adarabioyo. However West Ham United failed to gain the lead as Chelsea got all three points.

With this win against West Ham United Chelsea is back in the top four standing of the Premier League. Chelsea's next assignment is in the FA Cup against Brighton. Both the teams will again face each other in the Premier League on 15th Feb.
