Omar Marmoush vs Bayern Munich

Omar Marmoush, the top scorer in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt, scored twice on Sunday. One of which was a stoppage-time equaliser which rescued a 3-3 home draw versus league leaders Bayern Munich.

Marmoush, who had tied the score at one goal each during the first half, finished a short break in extra time to score the game's final goal, salvaging a point and sending the Bavarians into three games without a victory across all competitions. With 14 points at this point, Bayern leads the league table on goal differential over RB Leipzig, who earlier on Sunday defeated Heidenheim 1-0. Third on the standings is Eintracht Frankfurt and they would be hoping to continue their good run after the International break.

After a solid start, Kim Min-jae entered the game after 25 minutes, as Bayern Munich, eager to recover from their midweek UEFA Champions League defeat at Aston Villa as well as last week's Bundesliga tie at home against Bayer Leverkusen, gained momentum.

But, its happiness was short-lived as Marmoush equalised seven minutes later, capping a lightning-fast burst with a beautiful low shot that went past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The Egyptian striker, who has scored eight goals during six league matches this season, then set up Hugo Ekitike for a goal in another counterattack in the 35th minute with a well-timed assist.

Three minutes later, Bayern launched their own comeback, levelling the score with a close-range strike from Dayot Upamecano following a mad dash for the goal. Michael Olise's incredible left-footed goal gave the visitors a lead again in the 53rd minute, but Marmoush scored a late equaliser to salvage a draw.

Bayern Munich need to solidify their defence which has looked a tad bit shaky. Despite selling Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, the Bundesliga giants did not invest much into their backline and it is causing an issue this season.
