WATCH: Ed Sheeran's disappointing reaction to Ipswich Town's humiliating loss to Manchester City

Manchester City sent a strong message to Paris Saint-Germain ahead of their upcoming Champions League match by achieving a commanding 6-0 victory over Ipswich Town.

Ipswich Town saddened Ed Sheeran 

Ed Sheeran, a dedicated fan of Ipswich Town regularly attends their matches. The singer has been instrumental for the club as their front-of-shirt sponsor since 2021, during a time when Ipswich was competing in League One, the third tier of English football. With back-to-back promotions in 2023 and 2024, the team has successfully climbed into the Premier League. This summer, Sheeran also acquired a minority stake in the club. He has embraced football fans by making appearances in the stands supporting Ipswich.

The four-time Grammy awards winner embraced the Ipswich fans with his appearance in the latest fixture. However, he seemed visibly upset during the fixture against Ipswich and was humiliated 6-0.

Manchester City’s stars, Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish too had a memorable encounter with Ed Sheeran in the car park outside Ipswich's ground ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday. 

Manchester City regains form 

The hosts got off to a promising start, building decent attacks. However, Manchester City quickly found their rhythm and began to take control of the match. Despite a missed opportunity from Erling Haaland during a quick counterattack, City maintained their composure. 

The breakthrough came when Phil Foden capitalized on a deflected cross from Kevin De Bruyne, finding the net from close range. This goal energized City, who went on to establish a commanding 3-0 lead by half-time.

The prospects for an Ipswich comeback were put to rest just four minutes into the second half when Jeremy Doku's well-placed shot deflected off Dara O'Shea, finding the back of the net.
